Positive Discipline 4 Week Classes

You are not alone! Join a group of parents for 4 weeks of engaging, interactive classes. No boring lectures here! Learn to have fun as a parent, to see mistakes and misbehavior as opportunities to grow and learn, and to model and teach important social and life skills.

During weekly or biweekly sessions, we share and role play our parenting challenges together as we learn new and more effective principles and tools. We try out the positive solutions we’re learning, both in hands-on activities during each 2 hour session and in our own family lives from week to week. You’ll find not only a class, but also a support network as you laugh, brainstorm, and connect with other parents who are facing similar challenges and aiming for the same life goals.

Cost: $99 per participant (with an early bird registration special of $175/parenting partners sharing materials)

Like our longer classes, all workshops are fully interactive with hands-on activities including role plays, group brainstorming, and discipline tool demonstrations.

Cost: $30 per participant (with an early bird registration special of $40/parenting partners sharing materials)

Mindful Parenting Practice

Do you desire to parent peacefully, but find yourself without the parenting tools, patience, or energy to do so? Or are you parenting gently now, and know you’ll benefit from both having your feelings and struggles heard in a supportive environment and experiencing the opportunity to practice self-care and parenting skills?

Join other local parents for Mindful Parenting Practice. Every session introduces and allows time to experience new skills and self-care practices, and includes time to share and work through your own struggles and parenting situations. We do not include any lectures, shaming, or judgment – just hands-on, practical, supportive experiences.

Cost: $30 per participant (with an early bird registration special of $40/parenting partners sharing materials)

Coaching

Sometimes, even if you’ve read all the books on the topic, it is challenging to implement those principles to the specific parenting situations you encounter! I offer parent coaching to help you understand your child’s behavior and to work together to find and implement effective, positive solutions. The coaching is available to those who have taken a class or workshop as well as those who have not been able to attend a class. You can receive personalized, confidential Parent Coaching at times when it is convenient for you, either in person or by email.

Parent coaching usually consists of:

  • An initial consultation, preferably in person with all involved parents, lasting 1-2 hours
  • 3 additional coaching sessions, lasting 1 hour each, in person or by email
  • written parenting plans to put into practice between sessions

Initial consultations cost $40. Follow-up emails cost $30 each or $40 for in-person 1 hour sessions. You only pay for one session at a time, so if you feel equipped after just one or two, you are not obligated to pay for remaining sessions!

Email consultations cost $30 per email, which will include a response to the questions and responses you send to me as well as a personalized parenting plan for you to work on implementing until the next email.

Something Different?

Interested in an option not listed above? We also offer:

Parent Retreats:

Hoping to learn these parenting skills, but unable to attend the longer class series? Try an intensive weekend retreat which covers much of the material from the other classes.

We are currently searching for locations for these retreats.

Group Classes:

Interested in bringing our class to your church, office, school, day care, or other location? This option is a great way to get closer to your already existing support network or to introduce peaceful parenting to your company’s staff, especially if you work with children! If you have a group of six or more participants, we are happy to work with you to set up special pricing for a group parenting class for your employees. Or, if you coordinate a location and 6-20 paying participants, your tuition and materials are free! Please contact us for pricing and more details on bringing positive parenting to your workplace or coordinating a class location.
